Another thing is, and of course it's very personal, but the PaaS speakers sound far better at Pa5 than the GNS does at Genos. 😦
Yeah, it's always very personal. That's especially true in this case, because we actually judge keyboard sound and not speakers. The thing is, we can not know how PaAS would sound on Genos or how GNS would sound on Pa5X.

Actually, *we CAN*. I currently have the PA5x, Genos1, and Genos2 daisy chained into each other so they can use the GNSMS01, and I previously had the PAAS mk1, and ran PA3x. PA4x. and Tyros5 through it. Unequivocally the GNSMS01 >>> TRSMS05 > TRSMS02 = TRSMS01>> PaasMk1, but I've yet to try mark 2.

So much so that every Korg owner here ended up buying the TRSMS05 (which was compatible with everything), and one even bought the GNSMS01, saying he knew how to require the 9 pin connector.

Didn't realize how much difference the GNSMS01 made over the TRSMs05 until I had them both hooked up to the Genos... the TRSMS05 was bassier, yes, but it was like someone had covered the hi frequencies in vaseline... not clear at all compared to the GNSMS01

And when I say the PA5x bass is *tight*, the bass compressor is absolutely incredible, I mean running through the GNSMS01.

Having a subwoofer would make a huge difference in the PAAS mk2:
according to the specs, the mk1 had a 40w subwoofer, but I looked at the speakers, but it sounded like those line array speakers without the sub. Tinny as hell. The only ones we ever sold were when we flushed them out below cost.

But the mk2:

60w sub *if* using a PA5x. And the mids/highs are now 30w instead of 20w. That would sound impressive!
120w total amplification if used on a PA5x, 80w otherwise...? I guess that implies the amplifier is actually built into the PA5x/PA4x, etc??

Specs don't necessarily tell the story at all, I'm afraid:
The GNSMS01 has 40w + 2x 20w, again 80w total. Again, unequivocally the GNSMS01 sounds much better than any TRSMS and the PAAS mk1, despite the TRSMS05 having the same wattage (and frequency range) as GNSMS01; TRSMS05 also use the same sizes 6.5" sub, 3" mid, and 0.8" tweeters
But the extra 50% wattage in amplification on the PA5x sounds very promising!

And anyone who's heard them side by side on the same Genos? The GNSMS01 is infinitely clearer... you actually don't realize how much is missing from the TRSMS speakers until you do that. Literally the sound equivalent of 480i vs 4k

And the Korg PA1000, built in speakers? Still have more bass punch than any of the Yamaha arrays (and miles head of the old PAas. One of my customers was set on PA4x with PAas, and we had a used set, so it was basically the same price as PA1000. And after hearing them side by side, said forget it, and got the PA1000. And he so wanted the better keys, tilt screen, and overall build quality of the PA4x (plus twice as many fill in buttons; 8 fills instead of 4) but based on speaker quality was forced to choose the PA1000

Then bought a TRSMS05 for even more bass (I personally think that was excessive, but he also wanted it louder, so fair enough).

And yes a ran a PSRs970 and the Genos through the PA1000 speakers. Absolutely mind blowing bass that way, and it sounded warmer, too.

I'm going to have to ask Korg for a display PAAsmk2, because otherwise I'll never get to hear one (based on the 3x the GNSMS01 price, and how bad the PAAS mk1 sounded, not a single customer has ordered one here; and for a speaker that pricy (you could buy an entire Stagepass400bt set for the same price as a PAASmk2) that only works with 1 keyboard we have on display, we can't afford to just have one on hand.

For reference for those who don't know PA speakers, that's *more* that half the price of the PSRsx720, or the PSRsx700 at launch.
