Korg Forums • New Kronos 3 Compability

I have already posted that but I think that this will need to be clearly mentioned in near future
when older Kronos owners will start seeking for bellow information in order to upgrade !

Korg Kronos 3 is an upgrade of (downgraded) Nautilus and a replacement for old Kronos 1-X in case of physical or hardware
damage and does not worth in other case like for instance replacing a working Kronos 2 only for a faster startup , fan-less and
some new EXs as factory by default.

But there are some extra benefits concerning upgrading from Nautilus , Premium EXs sound libraries of Korg Store and
WavesArt Premium Kronos EXs libraries that only Kronos can support , will be back and will remarkably enhance your workstation.

Compatibility

- Kronos 3 have only 3 free User Program Banks , the greatest ever disadvantage (2 less than Kronos 2)
- Kronos 3 have the same available streaming samples Ram with Kronos-X/2 , less than 2 Gb and less available for custom
samples than Kronos 2 since extra EXs have been added by default in Preload.KST (available for all Kronos in Korg store).
- ROM memory of Kronos X/2/3 is the exact same.
- Any Installed / registered EXs Library (from EXs 9 to any) will work in any Kronos X/2/3
- Any Kronos 2 PCG with any engine will work flawlessly in Kronos 3
- Any Kronos Korg Store EXs & PCG will work in Kronos 3 ( If Programs of Combinations with reference to
factory Programs have been updated to the new architecture of Kronos 3 Library Banks).
- Be sure that any third party EXs sound libraries you will purchase have been updated to new Kronos 3 library architecture.
- A fully customized full setup with custom samples of a Kronos 2 if saved in All format will work identical if migrated
but this will overwrite newer factory PCG setup of Kronos 3.
